McCoys worked with their client to deliver value engineering solutions, this included an alternative drainage solution and the processing of the existing on site stone to a specialist aggregate which reduced the import and disposal requirements on the scheme.

The works included the processing of 2,500m3 of stone to produce specialist aggregates. The project used localised cut and fill to produce formation and the use of lime stabilisation of the formation to combat the wet ground conditions.

The site had significant level changes and was built in two terraces and included the construction of a L shaped 3.2 metre high pre-cast concrete retaining wall between these terraces.

In addition to the above the project involved the installation of linear and piped drainage, 2 attenuation tanks to provide 600m3 of storage. McCoys were required to divert two existing drains to behind the new retaining wall and replace an existing water main.
