A £39 million regional distribution hub facility in Wixams, Bedford. The facility is now occupied by B&M Retail Ltd and will serve as it's Southern Distribution Centre.
McCoy Contractors undertook a £9 million groundworks project for an extensive concrete yard slab as part of the construction of the new distribution warehouse for the leading retailer.
Works included foundations, foul, storm and syphonic drainage. The services infrastructure, concrete floor slabs, external concrete yard slabs were constructed by McCoy’s team.
Finally the kerbs and edgings were laid with placement of stone to tolerances, forming pits and bases on the site.
Project Innovation
During the tender stage, the Team assessed many different ways they could add value for the Client. This resulted in an on-site concrete batching plant which generated significant material cost savings.
It also subsequently reduced lorry movements, by over 1,900 deliveries helping to reduce the environmental impact of the operations.
